  • Blessed Christmas!

Our family has spent a very quiet day at home.  Merle made a breakfast of grits and eggs, something we always enjoy. We had an late dinner/early supper around 4 PM – roast, corn and peas, mashed potatoes with gravy and lots of good iced tea!

Merle has taken the remainder of the grits to his Mom. He makes a large batch, and shares some with her. She shares them with Merle’s brother, Buddy. This is usually done on Sunday evenings, then the sisters can attend church if they would like.

Jacob and family are in Florida at Valerie’s mother’s place.  They have done some work in her kitchen, much needed from what Valerie said. The floor got replaced, and a water heater put in from what I hear. I am so glad he can help her in that way. Helping others has been one of the things he has been known for in the past.

Merle, Elizabeth and I plan to go to Meigs and help to celebrate the 60 years of married life for my parents!  I think they are as pleased about us coming – and the celebrating – as we are.  We plan to return home on New Year’s Eve day, stopping in on a get-together in Anderson to say “Hello”.

  • Thanks for the update!!!! I certainly hope you had a Blessed Christmas!!!! We sure did. It was great!!!!!!!!!!1 I got to go clean up from it all now. Jon really got to have a wonderful Christmas. It was interesting watching him play with his new toy. That was a blast. Stan got him a Radio Controlled helicopter he can fly in the house. This was his first Christmas in several years and we had the pleasure of making it enjoyable for him. Give Uncle Clark and Aunt Hilda a hug for me when You see them again. I sure hope they have a wonderful Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ryc: It was a tasty breakfast!  This year I made my quiches the same morning, however, some recipes can be made the night before and baked the next morning.  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

  • Thanks for catching my error!! I was working on the 2008 calendars for so long that I starting writing it as the date. Now that it is 2008 I am writing 2007. *groan*

I’m not sure how much the calendars would be. I still haven’t gotten my first copy yet to see how they turn out. I did it kind of spur-of-the-moment. But they would probably be in the $15 range. I know that’s kind of expensive but I would only be getting a small quantity printed.

  • ryc: That’s a new one.  I haven’t heard that before.

  • Thanks for the comment and the update on Uncle Clark and Aunt Hilda. I sure hope everything continues to go good for them and Aunt Hilda continues to improve.
