I spoke to Elizabeth on Sunday evening, and she had me in tears before she hung up the phone. She mentioned that all her evening meals are something cold, nothing hot that would cause the smell of food to go through the air. She said that by eating cold items, she can eat and not let the children be aware that she is eating something. She often hears them going to bed crying because they are hungry. That just tore my heart in two. I have sent the children to bed with a glass of milk (when they misbehaved), but have never had to listen to one crying themselves to sleep with an empty stomach.

We ask for you to help us pray daily for Otis. There is a project that he may be able to do for Elizabeth, and we are not at liberty to give the details yet. Once we do, you will see how the whole thing is guided by our Heavenly Father. It is proof to us again that Elizabeth is where He wants her to be at this time in her life.

  • How blessed we are to be born in the United States of America. I know that gets to Elizabeth’s heart to hear the lilttle ones cry becasue of hunger. Bless her for eating cold stuff so the children do not have to smell food when they don’t have.

We will pray for Otis that he can be very successful with this project he is working on for her.

  • Thanks for the comment.  I’m glad you enjoyed our trip.  We did too!

Now (after three weeks) I have time to prop up my feet and check on other people’s sites.  :)

  • Hello Grace,  It was actually my son that Jake was talking to.  His name is the same as mine.  I don’t do very well on the phone except with my family.  Thanks anyway.  How is little Issac?  They grow so fast!  We are expecting our first grandchild this fall.  Albert
